Once we have determined that the information is relevant and actionable, we dispatch an e-alert to you to warn you of the threat. We follow up with ‘A Guidance’ on what security precautions you should consider to best protect your school or synagogue and its population. Not only does this assist in protecting your people, it demonstrates Due Diligence on the part of your institution and reduces liability to your Directing Minds and Board Members. Local Threat Scanning and Intelligence To best protect your school or synagogue we develop a Common Operating Picture (COP). This is achieved by collecting threat information from you and other members enrolled in SHIELD. The intelligence is reviewed and forwarded to all other members. This could be images and descriptions of suspicious people, vehicles, and activity or other relevant information received from police that should be shared with all members. Security Consultation and Advice Unlimited Security Consultation and advice via telephone or email. Under the protection of SHIELD, you can talk to a knowledgeable security consultant on any security matter without having to worry about additional cost. You can send to Global Impact proposals that you have received for physical security equipment or services such as guards. We will review it and advise you to ensure that you are receiving relevant and cost appropriate equipment and services. Training Keep your staff motivated, informed, and your students and congregation safe. SHIELD membership comes with two annual training sessions. They are both two hours in duration and they address key skills that your staff should have competency in. You may choose from Security Awareness, Incident Management, Active Shooter, Conducting Emergency Drill exercises, or Workplace Violence Prevention. Security On Demand Without workable policy and procedures your security is weakened. Members can access Global Impact’s Security On Demand through your LAN, WAN, or on staff smartphones. Security On Demand contains generic but relevant security procedures to best guide your staff before, during, and after an incident. Security on Demand addresses the most common threats that can affect a school or synagogue and includes procedures on lockdown, bomb threat, active shooter, dealing with suspicious people, and much more.
